Helen began diving in 2006 after a try dive in the Bahamas. Since then she’s dived all over the world, including Hawaii to the Farne Islands, Indonesia to the Sardine Run, Along the way she’s been lucky enough to dive with whale sharks , humpbacks and even experience an unforgettable (and unplanned) encounter with a great white shark. Clean underwear was in short supply that day.
Her favourite dive is the Thistlegorm, and like the ship, she was also born in Sunderland.
While diving took a bit of a back seat after having children in 2017, her passion for the sport has never faded. Her next mission is to inspire the next generation by turning her two boys into enthusiastic scuba divers.
